Wine Varieties: Falanghina, Primitivo, and Zinfandel
One of the best identified sorts of red wine is the Zinfandel. This variety of red grape is indigenous in California and celebrated for its rich taste with touches of raspberry aroma. It grows in warm climate and in bunches. This variety ripens early; yet, irregular pattern in ripening happens. This is one disadvantage because the harvest will be one at a time instead of a single harvest for the whole batch. Also, because it grows in a tight bundle, there are cases that it succumbs to rotting. One trait also of this Zinfandel wine is being “hot” in the palate because of its high intoxicating content but it was now gentled by winemakers using new innovations. Zinfandel has this special feature also that retained its terrior or the characteristic that it inherits due to the geographics where it is cultivated and the winemakers own unique style in manufacturing.
